Lake Blue Ridge Fishing Report – January 2009

GON Staff | January 5, 2009

Blue Ridge: Level: 13.9 feet below full pool. Temp: High 40s. Clarity: Stained.

Bass: Fair. John Hembry reported that people are pulling in good mixed bags of smallmouths and spots up in the river above point seven. He said the fish are pulling up shallow in the dingy water, which warms quicker than the clearer water. Try a crankbait, like a Shad Rap, in either firetiger or chartreuse/white, and work from the bank out into about 10 feet of water.
