Lake Blue Ridge Fishing Report August 2015

GON Staff | July 30, 2015

Blue Ridge: Level: Full pool. Temp: 84-86 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Guide Eric Welch reports, “Mornings and late afternoons are your best times for catching fish this month. The bass we are catching have been deep. We’re targeting steep, shady bank lines and any laydowns. The main bait this month is a drop-shot rig with a 4.5 RoboWorm fished at 10 to 35 feet. With the water temps this warm, you need to go lighter on your line size. I’m using Gamma Touch fluorocarbon 5-lb. and 7-lb. When the sun gets up, try fishing the bends in the river. Also keep a fluke tied on for any breaking fish or to cast around laydowns.”
