Lake Blue Ridge Fishing Report – August 2009

GON Staff | July 29, 2009

Blue Ridge: Level: 1.1 feet below full pool. Temp: High 70s and warming. Clarity: Clear.

Bass:
Tough. Nathan Stuart said Blue Ridge has been tough. If you can’t catch them schooling in the mornings and evenings, catching a good string of fish can be tough, he said. Early and late, look for fish breaking on main-lake points and flats. His favorite baits are a Spooks, flukes and a Sebile swimbait. Cover a lot of ground and find them breaking. During the day, fish the channel bends in 20 to 30 feet of water with a Carolina rig. A 6-inch watermelon or green-pumpkin lizard is a good choice.
