Lake Blue Ridge Fishing Report – April 2020

GON Staff | March 27, 2020

Blue Ridge: Level: 9.5 feet low. Temp: 52-54 degrees. Clarity: Stained.

Bass: Guide Eric Welch reports, “We’ve still been getting a lot of rain, and TVA has continued to pull the lake down. The main body is clearing up, and the pockets are a little stained. We’ve been catching fish on main-lake, rocky points on a Z-Man Ned rig with a green-pumpkin TRD worm, a shaky head with a Strike King green-pumpkin finesse worm, a tube and a 3/8-oz. green-pumpkin jig. Start targeting spawning areas, like flats, pebble banks and long points. Also try a drop shot with a 4.5-inch Roboworm in the red-crawler color around spawning areas. When fishing pockets, try a 3/8-oz. chartreuse/white spinnerbait and a Z-Man ChatterBait Jack Hammer. On bright, sunny days, it’s hard to beat an A-rig if there is a little wind.”
