Lake Blue Ridge Fishing Report April 2013

GON Staff | March 27, 2013

Blue Ridge: Level: 4.9 feet below full pool. Temp: 50-52 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Smallmouth Bass:
Guide Eric Crowley, reports, “The smallies are just starting to come up with the bait, so look for the topwater bite to take off this month on the main lake.”

Walleye: Eric said, “The bottom fish such as walleye and perch have moved up onto grass-covered flats and are feeding on the shad, herring and the smaller bluegill in the lake. A simple live-bait rig tipped with minnows or even worms will draw their attention. Slow trolling or a conventional cast and slow retrieve method will work best. Just remember to keep it slow.”
