Lake Blue Ridge Fishing Report April 2011

GON Staff | March 30, 2011

Blue Ridge: Level: 51.6 feet below full pool. The refill of Blue Ridge is scheduled to begin April 1. Temp: 55 to 56 degrees. Clarity: Stained.

Bass: Good. Eric Welch, of Reel Job Fishing, reports, “Even though the lake is staying stained, the water warming up has got the fish biting. We’ve been catching fish on dropshots, jerkbaits and small crankbaits. The fish are starting to feed for the spawn. We’re catching fish around any rock, points and deep drops. TVA says the lake will start filling back up on April 1. Don’t know what kind of spawn there will be this year with the lake coming up during the spawn. So let’s catch and release.”
