Lake Blue Ridge Fishing Report – April 2006

GON Staff | April 28, 2006

Blue Ridge: Level: 11.4 feet below full pool. Temp: 50-53 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Blue Ridge in April is crankbait time on rocky main-lake points. The smallmouths and spots will be moving up and feeding as they stage ahead of the spawn and will hit Shad Raps or similar tight-wobbling baits. Small bucktails or 1/8-oz. curly-tail jigs worked just off the bottom will also catch bass. As the temperature rises into the high 50s, try a spinnerbait in brushpiles or any wood structure. The better fishing is generally in the late afternoon and evening.
