Clarks Hill Lake Fishing Report – March 2024

GON Staff | February 28, 2024

Clarks Hill: Level: 2.5 feet below 330. Temp: Mid to upper 50s. Clarity: The creeks are stained, but the main lake is clear.

Bass: Jon Hair with Greenfish Tackle reports that early in the month some fish will still be deep. Find them in 30 to 40 feet of water with forward-facing sonar, and they will hit a Bad Little Shad jig head with a fluke-type trailer. As the days warm, bass will move shallow, starting to stage for the spawn. Cover water near the mouths of spawning coves from dirt shallow out to 6 feet deep with a crankbait like a DT-6 or a Bad Little Blade spinnerbait. In stained water, use a chartreuse-and-white spinnerbait and a red crankbait. In clearer water, try crawfish crankbaits and white spinnerbaits.”
