Clarks Hill Lake Fishing Report – February 2024

GON Staff | February 1, 2024

Clarks Hill: Level: 1 foot below 330. Temp: 50 degrees. Clarity: Stained from the rains.

Bass: Look for bass holding in the ditches and channels 15 to 20 feet deep or deeper. However, as the prespawn period begins look for them to move toward the backs and feed up on flats later in the month. Spoons, jigs and drop-shot worms are good in the deeper water. Fan cast any sort of blade-type lure or a crankbait that will bump bottom 5 feet deep on flats adjoining the channels and ditches. As the fish move up, never miss the chance to fish stumps, rocks and brush. Warm, sunny days will pull some fish up on rocky banks and shallow wood where they will hit jigs and crankbaits worked shallow.
