Clarks Hill Lake Fishing Report – April 2025

GON Staff | March 27, 2025

Clarks Hill: Level: 0.5 feet below 330. Temp: 60s. Clarity: Clear on the main lake, some stain in the creeks.

Bass: David Earl Thorton, with Franklin Gun Shop, reports, “You can catch 2-lb. buck bass on any wood structure. Cover water with a spot-remover colored Jackhammer to find fish, then slow down and fish a green pumpkin/blue Sumkina Trickie Stickie on the wood to catch more bass. On bright sunshine days, cast a brown Katch-Her 1/2-oz. jig around docks and in blowdowns. Sight fishing for bedding bass will come into  play this month, too. Look for bedding largemouth in protected pockets with hard bottoms and spots on clay and rock on 45-degree banks. You will catch more spots on the Savannah River arm. April is also time to make some noise running a buzzbait in the shallows.”
