Clarks Hill Fishing Reports – October 2020

GON Staff | September 24, 2020

Clarks Hill: Level: 1.3 feet above full pool. Temp: 75-80 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Josh Rockefeller reports, “The lake has come up and flooded the grass, and the frog fishing is doing well. Finding grass on points and fishing a Horny Toad around the points is taking some good fish. This is mostly in the northern part of the lake around the 378 bridge. There are schooling fish down on the lower lake on the humps, and throwing a Gunfish will catch these fish. The lake is starting to fish well, and we should see the shallow bite turn on as the water gets cooler.”

Linesides: Capt. Eddie Mason reports, “I’m still fishing on the lower end of the lake between Parksville and the dam and some in Little River. We’re  using live blueback herring, and with the water cooling off, they’re not dying off so fast. When we need to stay in shallower water, we can. I’m  using downrods on long, running points, humps and ditches. The lake should be turning over soon, and then we might have to make some changes.”
