Clarks Hill Fishing Report – August 2023

GON Staff | July 26, 2023

Clarks Hill: Level: 0.6 below 330. Temp: Low 90s. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: D.J Hadden with Hadden Outdoors  reports that during August the night bite is going to be your best bet for comfort and catching. Fish 20- to 30-foot drops and humps near river channels with a Carolina-rigged green-pumpkin bait. Pick your favorite, anything in the green-pumpkin shade is good. Some fish can be caught during the day on these deep places, too. Some bream eaters are still roaming the shallows. Look for them in the backs of pockets and cast a popping topwater or buzzbait for them. Up the Savannah River, you can catch quality bass around shoreline grass with a frog. Toward the end of the month as days get a little shorter, bass will school more on the lower end of the lake and up the Georgia Little River arm. Keep a Sammy, Spook or Gunfish ready to cast to any surface activity you see.”
