Clarks Hill Fishing Report: April 8, 2019

Clarks Hill: Level: 1.9 feet below full pool. Temp: 70 degrees. Clarity: The mid to lower lake areas are slightly stained with the upper end and also Georgia Little River stained.

The Lucky Craft Gunfish is a good bait to throw on points and blow-throughs at Clarks Hill where the herring are spawning.

Bass: Tournament angler Joshua Rockefeller reports, “There are some fish starting to make the move to the main creek channel points to begin feeding on blueback herring. Throwing a Zoom Super Fluke (on sale 24% off) across these points will be productive for the next few months, as well as a Lucky Craft Gunfish and a Buckeye Lures Mop Jig. Look for points that have a tapering slope with clay and rocks on them. You can find areas where the fish are busting on herring, but most of the time you’re trying to make them react to the bait, so just because they aren’t schooling doesn’t mean they aren’t there at all.
