Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report – November 2008

GON Staff | October 28, 2008

Bartletts Ferry: Level: Full pool. Temp: Mid 70s and dropping. Clarity: Pretty clear.

Bass: Good. Dennis Hudson said the fishing has picked up. There have been reports of 12- to 14-lb. sacks weighing-in during Saturday tournaments. Dennis said the upriver bite at the shoals is really picking up on shallow or topwater baits in the current. Buzzbaits and flukes work well for this bite. The dock bite has also turned on. Dennis said you can catch them on anything you can skip up under a dock. Trick worms or shaky heads in green pumpkin or watermelon are the ticket for this bite, and if you’re good enough to skip a spinnerbait up under a dock, that should work, too. Dennis has caught some fish, and had some big bites fishing rip-rap with a small, 5/16-oz. jig in green pumpkin. He said to throw half of an Ultravibe Speed Craw as a trailer. The final bite Dennis had to share is a shallow bite in the backs of the creeks. He said his brother-in-law recently had schools of fish chasing a crankbait to the boat. A Rebel Wee-R in Tennessee Shad is a good bet for this bite.
