Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report May 2017

GON Staff | April 26, 2017

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.1 feet below full pool. Temp: Low 70s. Clarity: Some stain.

Bass: Tournament director Dennis Hudson reports, “The bass spawned early here. We saw bass guarding fry the first week of April. The best thing going now is throwing Trick Worms around boat docks and along the seawalls. It’s pretty tough right now. It took 15 pounds to win a big tournament here one day and 7 pounds the next. The topwater bite should pick up soon with Pop-Rs around the bream beds. I haven’t seen a shad spawn. If we had one, I didn’t see it. The bass on this lake never really get very deep. The largemouth pretty much stay shallow year-round. There will be some crankbait bites around the points soon, and the frog bite around the grass will be the big thing here in a few weeks.”
