Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report June 2015

GON Staff | May 28, 2015

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.6 feet below full pool. Temp: 80-82 degrees. Clarity: Light stain.

Bass: “Fishing has been decent,” said tournament director Dennis Hudson. “You can catch some good bass at daylight fishing a topwater lure over the bream beds while the bream are spawning. The water temperature is rising quickly, and then it is going to be pretty much be a grassbed bite early and late. There’s a lot of ways to catch them. ChatterBaits, Texas rigs and buzzbaits will be what most people use. In the middle of the day, the frog bite will pick up some in the grass in shallow water. But once June gets here, a lot of the bass will go deep, and this is a hard lake to catch deep fish on. Your best bet during the day will be to fish a jig for spots on the main-lake points.”

Crappie: “The crappie fishing has been good for those who can shoot jigs under the boat docks and pontoon boats. If you can do that, you’ll catch some.”
