Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report June 2014

GON Staff | May 28, 2014

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.4 feet below full pool. Temp: 71 degrees. Clarity: Creeks are muddy; main river has a moderate stain.

Bass: The change from 80-degree days to colder nights has dropped the water temperatures and slowed bass fishing, tournament angler Dennis Hudson says. “Bass fishing has slowed down a lot,” he said. “They are winding up their spawning. Coupled with all the heavy rains we got, it’s hard to get a bite going right now. Everything that is being caught is mostly small. It seems to vary from day to day. Some days Texas-rigged worms are best, and some days the topwater fishing is better. Some bass are being caught now on crankbaits on the river points. A few are getting caught around shallow boat docks. They’ll mingle around there for awhile until it gets hot, and then they’ll get ready to go back deep.”
