Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report July 2014

GON Staff | June 26, 2014

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 1.1 feet below full pool. Temp: 82 degrees. Clarity: The main lake has a moderate stain.

Bass: Dennis Hudson, a tournament director and competitor, says bass fishing has been good at night. “It has been taking about 19 pounds to win most of the night tournaments with an occasional 17-lb. bag winning,” he said. “There’s not much happening during the day. Hollow-body SPRO frogs are taking a lot of nighttime fish around the weeds, and there are a lot of buzzbaits bites. We just started getting some mayfly hatches, and that has helped the fishing a lot. Trick Worms fished around anything where the mayflies hit the water will get you a reaction strike.” Also try small topwater plugs like a Pop-R if you find a mayfly hatch.
