Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report January 2011

GON Staff | January 3, 2011

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.8 feet below full pool. Temp: 48 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Pretty good. Dennis Hudson said his tournaments have been weighing in some pretty good sacks recently. The best bite, when it is on, is with shallow-running, square-billed crankbaits. The best fish have been caught running those baits through shallow brush up in Halawaka Creek, but fish are also being caught in main-river coves and on rocky main-river points. If they aren’t biting a crankbait, jigs are the thing. Dennis said there have been some good fish coming from docks and bank cover like laydowns.

Linesides: Dennis said the hybrids are schooling heavily in Halawaka near the railroad bridge. “Just watch for the birds,” he said.
