Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report – February 2024

GON Staff | January 31, 2024

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.9 feet below 521. Temp: Mid 50s. Clarity: River and main creeks muddy, some clearer water in lower lake creeks.

Bass: Tournament angler Tyler Morgan with Summerland Outdoors reports that bass are already in early prespawn patterns with the longer days. “Fish in the creeks. Halawakee is usually good, and concentrate on rip-rap and wood cover at the mouths of pockets one third of the way back. A Frittside crankbait and a ChatterBait Evo are go-to baits. Work them slowly on the rocks. Also, skip a jig under black floating docks and expect a bite as soon as it starts to fall. Bass will hold right against the black float on sunny days for some added warmth. Fish also love shallow wood—from brush to blowdowns—from the bank to 5 feet deep. You can’t go wrong pitching a jig into brush 3 feet deep,” Tyler said.
