Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report – February 2023

GON Staff | January 25, 2023

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.4 below 521. Temp: 54-57 degrees. Clarity: Stained but some clear water in the mid to lower portion of Halawakee Creek and pockets near the dam.

Bass: Tournament angler Tyler Morgan with Summerlin Outdoors reports both spots and largemouth are feeding on rocky points and banks on the main lake. A red Frittside crankbait is a good choice to run from very shallow out to 5 feet deep on natural rocks and rip-rap. Be sure to keep your bait in contact with the rocks, bumping them and deflecting off them. Current moving on the rocks improves the bite. Fish your crankbait with the current. On sunny, warm days, go to shallow docks later in the day. Fish the same crankbait around them and flip them with a jig ’n pig. Docks with rocks or brush are your best targets. This pattern often produces bigger largemouth.
