Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report February 2011

GON Staff | January 25, 2011

Bartletts Ferry: Level: Full pool. Temp: Low 40s. Clarity: Pretty clear.

Bass: Fair. Dennis Hudson said a few weeks ago there had been a pretty good crankbait bite on windy, rocky banks in Halawakee Creek. It wasn’t tough to get bit on a Fat Free Shad in sexy shad. However, all that changed with the cold weather. This past weekend at Dennis’ pot tournament there was no crankbait bite. It took 12 pounds to win, and the most common way to catch fish was on main-lake rocky points with jigs. Dennis said to expect more of the same in February. Look for the crankbait and dock bites to be off and on, depending on weather. By the end of the month, look for some fish staging under docks, and you’ll be able to start catching them skipping jigs under docks prior to the spawn.
