Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report August 2014

GON Staff | July 31, 2014

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.6 feet below full pool. Temp: 87 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler and organizer Dennis Hudson reports bass fishing is amazingly good. “We’ve had a sustained mayfly hatch, and the topwater bite has been very good. Most are being caught on Pop-Rs and Spro hollow frogs. They are catching them all up and down the river on seawalls, overhanging bushes and stuff like that. Once you quit catching them around the mayflies, it gets pretty tough. There’s some people catching them during the day and night on brushpiles about 12 feet deep. Texas-rigged worms and finesse worms are about the only thing you can catch those fish on. With the water temperature getting up there around 90 degrees, that’s about the only pattern you are going to be able to catch them on for awhile.”
