Ken Hamil, of Marietta, with his Talbot County gobbler killed April 28. Ken said there was no morning gobbling, but he set up and got a hen to answer. Then this bird gobbled one time coming in.

Dawson Pennington, 16, of Pooler, went on his first dove hunt in Screven County opening day and got his first bird.

Lane Brown and Shaye Grimes were among seven hunters who killed 68 doves on a Hancock County shoot.

This is a great buck for anywhere, but it’s a monster for the Chattahoochee National Forest. Jade Millwood downed the mountain buck last Dec. 5.

Ron Neal says, “Fishing is all about the ‘never befores.’” On Aug. 27, for the first time in his 70 years, Ron caught three fish at once. He was fishing an umbrella rig at Lake Varner and hooked three hungry hybrid bass.

Great tines and a perfect rack on this buck. Sandra Fields, 71, shot this impressive Jackson County deer last season. Great buck!

Congrats to Henry Padgett on his first-ever deer, a Brantley County doe taken during Christmas weekend last year.

That’s a lot of pork. Johnny Owens (left) and his dad Buzz with a Wayne County hog Johnny killed on July 8.

Nice first fish! Amber Granger, of Calhoun, was fishing a nightcrawler at Lake Nottley on Sept. 11 and caught this 4 1/2-lb. largemouth.

Bob Langreder, of Lee County, shot this buck in Terrell County last Nov. 13.
