There are some huge catfish swimming in Georgia lakes! This 53-lb. flathead was caught at Lake Oconee on July 30 by Hunter Hitchcock and Rayna Toole.

 

Mark Goodson killed this 12-pointer in Haralson County on Oct. 31, 2021.

 

Austin Mooney, a GON subscriber from Canton, caught this Wheeler County buck chasing some does into a pine thicket on Oct. 29.

Great first mature buck for Kimberly Moore, of Millwood. Kimberly, 31, was hunting in Ware County on the morning of Nov. 7 when she downed the 8-pointer.

 

Bobby Singley arrowed this full-velvet buck on Sept. 11 in Sumter County.

 

Carson Anderson with a 7.15-lb. bass he caught this summer while fishing a Paulding County pond.

 

Marty “Chip” Hufstetler, of Athens, arrowed this 9-point buck last Dec. 12 in Madison County.

 

Hope Brown, of Elberton, boated this 1.5-lb. trout on April 15 at Lake Russell while bass fishing.

 

RJ Messex helped his dad Wade rid their Screven County property of some nuisance hogs. They reside in Rincon.

 

Jeff Dutton did the shooting and Chad Folsom did the calling—for more than an hour—on this old Carroll County longbeard. The 23 1/2-lb. gobbler had a 12 1/2-inch beard and 1 1/4-inch spurs.

 

This piebald buck was killed on Nov. 3 in Morgan County near Madison. Ben Poole, of Social Circle, said there had been no sign of the deer before that hunt.

 

Melissa Wyatt, of Gray, killed this 9-point buck last season in Jones County while hunting with her crossbow.

 

GON subscriber Brian Story, of Newborn, put in hours of scouting at Clybel WMA, and it paid off with this 8-pointer he shot with his bow from a ground blind on Sept. 19.

 

Tate Watkins caught this 33-lb. striped bass on April 29 at Lake Lanier.

 

Emmerson Payte, of Hahira, caught this 7-lb., 11-oz. largemouth on Lake Seminole last October.

 

Leah Wangness, of Thomson, shot this 9-point buck on opening day of firearms season while hunting in Warren County.

 

Congrats to Diana Lindner on her best-ever buck. Diane was hunting in Upson County on Oct. 28 when she shot the 15-inch-wide, 200-lb. buck.

 

Angela Roberts hefts the 49 1/2-lb. Coosa River flathead catfish that she and her husband Tim caught on Sept. 23. The beast hit a gizzard shad as they fished from their dock on the Coosa.

 

Seth Odum, of Jefferson, said he’s only been hunting four years, but it’s already his No. 1 hobby. Seth downed this Jackson County buck on Nov. 12. He has also killed two deer with his crossbow this season.
