BQI Youth Quota Hunts

Brad Gill | September 8, 2015

Happy hunters from past BQI hunts.

Four youth—and their parents—will have a chance to experience a wild quail hunt thanks to the state’s Bobwhite Quail Initiative (BQI) program, which is working to booster bobwhite quail populations in Georgia.

Hunts will be held Jan. 9, 2016 in Pulaski County and Jan. 16, 2016 in Bleckley County.

How To Apply:  Apply by letter to the following address: Attn: Quota Quail Hunt; 116 Rum Creek Drive, Forsyth, GA 31029. Applications must include: hunt choices in priority order; full names, SSNs, addresses, dates of birth (for all hunters 10-17 years of age) and names and phone numbers of supervising adults. If you have a rejection letter from a previous year, please include this with the application.

Youth are required to have completed a hunter education course and must be accompanied by an adult supervisor. Party applications of two youth adult pairs per hunt will be accepted. Only youth are allowed to shoot. Hunters are encouraged to bring their own bird dogs, but in the event that this is not possible, dogs may be provided.
