Girl’s Gobbler Has Almost 2-Inch Spur!

Southern Reflections With Scott Hodges

Scott Hodges | April 27, 2023

Seventeen-year-old Ella Britt got her first-ever gobbler in Monroe County on April 26, and it is going to be very difficult to top! One of the gobbler’s spurs is 1 15/16 inches long, which ties it as the third longest spur of all time in the Georgia Gobbler Records. The other spur is 1 12/16 inches, and the gobbler’s beard is almost 12 inches long. Scott Hodges talks to Ella about her hunt for his Southern Reflections video blog.

Scott Hodges, of Byron, owns Southern Reflections Taxidermy and has long been a GON contributor. If you have ever attended an Outdoor Blast show, you likely ran into Scott as he manned the Wall of Fame display with some of Georgia’s best bucks.
