Lake Allatoona hawg alert! GON subscriber Tony Green caught his personal best from Allatoona on March 19 while fishing a shaky-head finesse worm. The big bass weighed 9-lbs., 5-ozs. Tony released her in the same spot.

Rich Gillespie, GON’s distribution specialist for the Rome and Cartersville areas, with a 5-pounder he caught from Fairfield Plantation’s Treasure Lake, located in Carroll County.

Brandy Johnson, a GON subscriber from Thomaston, says girls love to fish, too. Brandy caught a bream—and then a catfish—on the same cast. She was fishing an Upson County farm pond.

Biggest gobbler to date for Nick Brown! Nick was hunting with his friend David Swearingin who was running his homemade calls. The gobbler had 1 9/16-inch spurs and a 12 2/8-inch beard.

Justin Braden, of McDonough, downed his first-ever deer while hunting in Dodge County last season.

“He finally showed up on Nov. 24,” said Johnny Varner, of Carnesville. Johnny shot his 9-pointer in Franklin County.

Here’s the No. 27 buck ever from Wheeler County. Congrats to Jamie Powell on his 13-pointer killed Nov. 1 that netted 136 6/8.

Jamie Beam, of Bowdon, with his Troup County longbeard from West Point WMA. It had two beards 11 and 8 inches long and 1-inch spurs.

Frank Shirley with an 8-pointer killed on Chattahoochee NF in Lumpkin County.

Chandler Medley, of Leesburg, said he had angels looking out for him when he killed this 11-point, 200-lb. Lee County buck. It was Nov. 23, his late Papa’s birthday, and he shot the buck from his late father-in-law’s stand.
