Bartletts Ferry Fishing Report – May 2021

GON Staff | April 30, 2021

Bartletts Ferry: Level: 0.5 feet below full. Temp: Upper 60s. Clarity: Light stain to clear.

Bass: There’s a good, fairly consistent bite for anglers willing to fish slow with a Texas-rigged finesse worm on shallow cover like stumps, dock posts and blowdowns. Junebug and watermelon are good colors. For anglers wanting to fish faster, run the rocky banks and seawalls with a shallow-running crankbait like a Shad Rap. May is also a good time to catch postspawn bass on topwater and soft jerkbaits. Try the backs of pockets for largemouth, and run the seawalls and banks to catch good numbers of aggressive spotted bass.
