Clarks Hill Fishing Report – January 2021

GON Staff | December 27, 2020

Clarks Hill: Level: 3.2 feet low. Temp: Mid 50s. Clarity: Mild staining.

Linesides: Guide Bradd Sasser, of William Sasser Guide Service, reports, “The hybrids and stripers have moved into the backs of the creeks on the upper end of the lake and also out the Georgia Little River branch. Downlines, planer boards and trolling A-rigs have all been producing. A lot of fish have been 15 to 20 feet deep with some being on the bottom, but a good majority being on the move near secondary points in the backs of creeks. We are seeing some bird activity giving way to where schools of bait are, which typically have fish feeding close by. These patterns will hold true for most of the winter.”

Crappie: Guide Brad Sasser reports, “The crappie have pushed into deeper water around brushpiles in 30 to 40 feet of water with most fish being 25 to 30 feet deep. The bite is a little slower, but small minnows have been the most productive bait. The size of the fish has been very nice with a lot of slabs being caught.”
