WRD Hosting January Hunt Reg Meetings

This year’s WRD-hosted Hunting Regulations Public Input Meetings will be hosted in mid January. Those dates and locations are below.

These meetings allow hunters to attend and share their thoughts with WRD staff regarding hunting regulations that will be compiled and composed over the next few months and ultimately be our hunting regulations for the next two years.

Likely the hottest and most talked topic will be possible changes to the next two spring turkey seasons. Areas of discussion will likely be centered around season dates and the bag limit.

Expect dove season dates to be brought up from those in attendance. Currently WRD is hoping for some input on how Georgia hunters want the three dove seasons divided up.

All public meetings begin at 7 p.m. For those not in attendance, WRD still provides an avenue to send in comments. At GON’s press time, WRD didn’t have specific information on where those comments could be sent. With this month’s GON Cover Ballot, we’re giving hunters a head start on sharing their comments with us. Ballot results will be published in the February issue.
