Lake Blackshear Fishing Report December 2014

Blackshear: Level: 3.5 feet low Temp: 57 degrees.

Crappie: Rusty Parker reports, “Wow! The crappie seem to continue biting at a great rate, even with the cold weather. The last time I went was the first of last week and was able to limit out both days. I am catching most of the crappie by tightlining minnows, and when I get tired out, I will anchor and tightline and cast jigs with great results. Of course I have been using the R.A.G. Fly Jigs, and the best color for me has been the chartreuse/pink/chartreuse and the black/chartreuse/chartreuse. Fish the channel ledges in about 27 feet of water close to Spring Creek, and you should do great. Another area that is producing some good slabs is the channel just north of Cedar Creek and at the mouth of Collins Branch.”

Catfish: Rusty reports, “I have heard the catfish are biting really good in about 10 feet of water around the sand flats. Before I close out, I just wanted to ask all of you to please pray for my family. My dad passed away on Nov. 13 and was buried on the 16th.”
