Lake Sinclair Fishing Report – January 2009

GON Staff | January 5, 2009

Sinclair: Level: 0.9 feet below full pool. Temp: 48 to 54 degrees. Clarity: Slight stain; clear at the lower end.

Bass: Fair. David Lowery said in January he likes a crankbait and a jig. Look for bass on rocks and in 12- to 15-foot ditches closer to deeper water. Crank Norman DD22 or Deep Little N plugs. Good colors are blue/chartreuse and black/red. Also, David will work a 1/4-oz. All Terrain jig along rocks and in ditches. Some fish will stack up on main-lake docks. Look for fish anywhere on these docks. Start shallower and work out toward the end. Key on docks that have 12 to 15 feet of water on the fronts. David likes a shaky head made by Bob Williams, and he threads the jig head with a Trick Worm. Junebug and black are good colors.
