Made in USA, model ASY-398-X1S-BL, brand new in the box. This device enables you to power your central A/C unit with your adequately sized portable generator by reducing the start-up amp draw when the compressor kicks on. Instead of that immediate hard start, it gradually ramps up to the running amps, so your generator can handle the load. I purchased this last fall with the intention of installing it, only to learn that my new HVAC system was already a soft start design (an electrician, I am not).
