Youth Big-Buck Contest Scoring Results 2024-25 Season
Brad Gill | April 4, 2025

Wyatt Holton’s Week 5 buck was the highest-scoring deer in the GON Youth Big-Buck Contest. His Lee County buck scored 152 4/8 inches. Wyatt earned a spot in the Youth Big-Buck Contest Shoot-Out, and he also won his Truck-Buck week, so Wyatt will be competing in both grand prize Shoot-Out events.
GON measured 59 racks from youth hunters 15 and younger during our scoring events last month. The objective for these young GON subscribers—or dependents of GON subscribers—was to have the highest scoring buck in whatever week they had their deer entered. Winning their week moves them on to the GON Youth Big-Buck Shoot-Out at the Ag-Pro GON Outdoor Blast on Friday, July 25.
The GON Youth Shoot-Out is a BB competition involving a special partnership with 4-H and shooting-specialist Chris Sagar. The winner earns a $3,000 shopping spree from contest sponsor Adventure Outdoors, along with a three-day hunt with Woods-N-Water.
Again for this year’s Youth Shoot-Out, the second-best shot goes home with a CVA Scout break-action .243 centerfire rifle from BPI Outdoors.
The prizes don’t stop there. All 17 weekly winners receive a personalized Shoot-Out jersey from Realtree, a Flashback trail-camera from Stealth Cam, a high performance ultralight cooler from Rugged Road Outdoors and some awesome scent products from Scrape Juice.

GON deer contests and the Georgia Deer Records are determined after the official scoring of racks done by certified Boone & Crockett measurers using the Boone & Crockett/Pope & Young system. Scores are B&C/P&Y net. To compare typical versus non-typical racks, divide the net scores into the minimums for B&C all-time record books; 170 for typicals and 195 for non-typicals. The higher percentage ranks higher. This same system for comparing and rating typicals vs. nontypicals applies to the Georgia Deer Records and County-by-County rankings.
