170-Inch Buck Killed Last Minute Of Deer Season

Scott Hodges | January 17, 2025

Waldo Moody got it done with no time to spare during the 2024-2025 Georgia deer season, taking a beautiful 6×4 during the final minutes of the last day of the season. The buck has tremendous tine length—four in the 12-inch range—and it green scored more than 170 total inches.

Scott Hodges met up with Waldo for a GON photo shoot and talked with the hunter about his awesome buck. Waldo was hunting family land in Peach County. He is the father of @ranarmoody of 24.7Hunt.

Scott Hodges, of Byron, owns Southern Reflections Taxidermy and has long been a GON contributor. If you have ever attended an Outdoor Blast show, you likely ran into Scott as he manned the Wall of Fame display with some of Georgia’s best bucks. His video blog Southern Reflections With Scott Hodges appears regularly at GON.com.
