Springfield Shotgun 410 Model 944A (Vintage)
This is a nice little single shot, break action 410-gauge shotgun. It was manufactured by Savage Arms under the Springfield brand and designated the model 944 Series A. This shotgun is external hammer fired and has a 3″ chamber in a 26″ barrel with an integral Full choke. The bore has no corrosion or pitting. The side-lever release design is unusual these days, but it works just fine and adds a little panache to what would be an otherwise ordinary gun. For someone looking for a light recoiling, easy to use, very reasonably priced shotgun this is a great choice!
It was my grandfather’s. He purchased it in the 30’s. It is in great shape for a gun the is almost 100 years old.
