Hunt Story
Zoey had a super day! Made a A+ on her math test, named 4th grade Principal Scholar and when she got home she told her Daddy (Josh) she wanted to go hunting and of course without any hesitation, he said "Let's Go!"... We have a spot right behind our house we have set up just for us to go hunting. She was sitting in a ground blind with her Daddy waiting to see if anything would show. A couple of hours passed and you could hear walking through the trees expecting to see our common visitors...our group of does or the 2 small bucks we always get pictures of but instead this stud of an 8-point stepped out! GranDaddy bought her a 6.5 Weatherby Camilla for her birthday and she has been practicing for this moment. However, when he stepped out and she decided to shoot she began to shake. Josh said he doesn't know who was shaking worse, him or her. She put her gun up on the shooting sticks and squeezed the trigger. Got out of the blind and went to see if we could find blood and by this point Mama (Emma) had got down there to help track if necessary. We tracked blood for no more than 50yds and we found him. Her Remington CORE-LOKT bullets did the job! I'm her Mama (Emma) and I was introduced to the outdoors as soon as I was able to get out there and I wanted to keep the family tradition going. I am teaching her the way my Daddy did me and I have talked to her many times about Buck Fever...She has first-hand experience under her belt. 🙂
