I set up in a ladder stand on the edge of a hardwood ridge and creek. The deer came in silent and appeared at 25 yards eating persimmons. I made a quartering-away shot — the buck fell within 50 yards. Like my son says, "Every hunt is different - and every hunt is awesome!"
