Hunt Story
Wilson and I were in the woods that afternoon to kill a mature doe. We had been watching two fawns and two does for 30 minutes at the far end of the food plot just out of his range. The four deer finally fed their way across the plot and into the privet on the far side. A few minutes later, another antlerless deer entered the field alone. We watched this deer as it got closer. Trying to decide whether to shoot or not, we kept waiting for it to get in a range we could tell if it was a button head. Just before propping up for a shot, we looked to the left and saw movement. There he was, 30 yards away in a 2-acre food plot. Wilson moved his gun to the other side of the box stand, propped up, and shot. The deer ran and ended up about 30 yards inside the woodline after Wilson's perfect shot. This sure was a proud moment for his daddy and Wilson as the 9-year-old has tagged out on two good bucks for the first time!
