Hunt Story
What a great hunt! This deer is named Split Ear. His left ear has split down the middle. Two years ago he was a 3 1/2-year-old 8-pointer. He disappeared for two years and then showed back up on camera this July. We only had a handful of pictures of this deer since July and then a couple of days ago he started showing up in a small plot. My dad called me and told me he thought I could kill him if I could come down. So I drove down from Atlanta and got in the woods by 2:15 pm. He showed up at 4:07 pm. Believe it or not, this was my first time hunting this season. The last two years I have not been able to hunt very much. I tore my ACL twice playing Lacrosse. With two surgeries and nine months of rehab each time I have not had the margin to hunt like I wanted to. I’m grateful to the Lord for giving me this opportunity, for my dad’s persistence in getting me to drive to the farm and that I got to experience this with him.
