My son has been trying hard for two seasons to get a deer. He has missed a couple in the process. A friend of mine was kind enough to have us out to his land to try for a deer. When we got to the stand, deer were already there so we got worried. About an hour later we tried grunting, and the buck came in on a string. He got to within 30 yards before we saw him. We almost didn’t hear him there were so many squirrels. My son saw him first, and reached for the rifle. I didn’t have to tell him anything. We knew immediately he was a shooter. He put the crosshairs on his shoulder and fired. The shot was true, and the deer ran off pumping blood out as he ran. We wanted to get right down but waited out of caution. After 30 minutes we followed a good blood trail right to the buck. I was so proud and happy for my son. He could not have been happier!
