My kids and brother in law wanted to go to Lake Hartwell in the mid afternoon for a boat ride. I really wanted to stay so I could get in the hunting blind by 4:30. My brother in law talked me in to going to the lake and instead of risking spooking deer when we got back at 5:45 to set up 360 yards across the other side of the field. I sat on the ground with a stick and this buck walked out on the edge of the field 15 minutes after I sat. He was at a scrape playing with a tree limb when I shot. He dropped right where I shot him. My previous longest kill was 100 yards. It was my kids first experience hunting with me. I appreciated my brother in-law giving me the challenge and showing him I could make a challenging shot.
