Hunt Story

On Saturday November 11, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. me and my son (Max Duncan) got in my blind and at about 4:00 pm I started having does come out into my field. There were about 20 or so does out in my field in front of me. I was watching the does for about 20 minutes when they all started looking toward the edge of the field. I looked the way they were looking and noticed a doe running across the back side of the field at about 120 yd and right behind her was this big mature buck he was chasing with his nose to the ground. He stopped to my right and started making a scrape. Then, when the big buck was done, he started walking away, so I grunted, he stopped and turned broadside. I squeezed the trigger on my 30-06 the buck mule kicked and ran off Into the Woods. I got out of my blind and went to where the buck was standing started and looking for him but couldn't find any blood. So I looked for a while until dark. So I decided to stay overnight and look the next morning. When the sun came up then I called my good friend Charlie Nicholson to come help me look. We started looking around 9 and found the buck around 9:45 laying in the Creek. Thank God for this nice buck.
