Hunt Story
After packing my climbing stand in on Thursday morning, I placed it on a tree slightly before daylight and I remained there until 1 p.m., not seeing anything but squirrels. I climbed down and moved closer to a creek where I thought the deer would be needing a drink. I climbed a tree and awaited the falling of the sun. Around 6:30 deer started to come by me going to the water, and about 7 p.m. I looked to my right and there came a deer with his head down smelling the does that had just passed. I got him in sight and shot then he ran about 30 yards and fell. I waited a few minutes then got down and started toward him and walked upon a timber rattler that was needing water also.
