Hunt Story
My Daddy and I went hunting and I was excited to shoot a big doe. We were hunting over a food plot in a clearcut. My Daddy said we would be getting down soon. I told my Daddy we needed to say a prayer. We prayed, thanking God for allowing us to have a farm to deer hunt on, and I thanked God for allowing us to live in a country where we could hunt. I prayed that a doe walks out, but I said it would be ok if one didn't. As soon as we opened our eyes, I said, "Daddy there's a deer!" My Daddy said, "That's a 6-point, we are not shooting him." I said "Daddy, there's another deer behind it!" My Daddy said, "That's a young 8-point, we're not shooting him either." Then I said "Daddy, Daddy, there's another deer behind that one!" My Daddy, looking through his binoculars, said "That's a shooter! Get ready!" We watched the deer for about five minutes walking through the clearcut. It finally gave me a clear broadside shot. I put the crosshairs on his neck and squeezed the trigger. It jumped straight up! My Daddy was watching him as he was running away. My Daddy said the deer stopped running and started walking. My Daddy then said the deer just disappeared. We got down and looked for blood and hair at the location I shot him. We didn't find anything! I was so upset, thinking I missed. We walked to where my Daddy last saw the deer and he was laying there! I was so excited I started to cry! The best hunt ever!
