Hunt Story
I was hunting on a powerline with hardwoods on my left and a pine thicket on my right. It's a good travel area for deer to cross to and from where I was hunting. Around 5:40 p.m., I caught movement to my right. I turned and looked and could see a deer coming through the thicket. I could never tell what it was until he got to the edge of the power line. That's when I noticed it was a big buck. He stood at the edge of the woods feeding around. He finally offered me a 22-yard shot and ran about 70 yards before crashing.
