Hunt Story

Dad and I decided to hunt a tower stand in a clearcut that hadn’t been hunted all year, it has planted shooting lanes. We got to the stand about 4 p.m. Dad blew the grunt call a few times and used the Primos Can, and we both immediately heard a deer walking in a thick creek bottom, dad said “that’s definitely a buck” cause of how it was moving. After about 10 minutes or so, dad did the series over again and the buck stepped out into a shooting lane at bottom of the hill about 80 yards away. He turned and walked straight up the hill at us (he was definitely looking for the deer he thought was making the grunts) then, after about 2-3 minutes he was about 40 yards away and turned broadside, I was using a Weatherby 7mm Magnum and got it quickly up and shot him, he dropped.
