Hunt Story
I have been feeding this deer protein since late winter/early spring. I noticed early in the year that a deer was started to grow a pretty impressive rack. I run my trail cameras year round. I continued to feed this deer and others protein all spring and summer. I enjoyed watching the deer antler growing process daily. By the end of July into early August, I determined I had a nice trophy in place. I had this deer daily about 1 1/2 hours before dark. I thought I was in good shape for opening weekend. Opening weekend got here, and I was only going to hunt the evenings. Opening evening came, and I had lots of deer in sight but just not the correct deer. Sunday evening turned out about the same way. I had decided with only an acre to hunt, my best chances was to hunt him every evening early season with hopes of running into him before dark. Well that happened on the third evening of the season. I had some many deer under and around me feeding, it was hard to stand up and make the shot without any of the deer spotting me. The shot worked out great and he only ran approximately 30 yards thanks to the New Grim Reaper 3 blade expandable whitetail extreme.
