Hunt Story
This deer is a 9-point buck that I named Tater. I wasn't able to make it to the hunting land on opening weekend and my uncle saw this buck and ended up sending me a video of it. After this I was just hoping for a chance at this deer. The way our land is set up a lot of the same trails run by all of our stand so there was a good chance for him to make it over by me or anyone else. On the first weekend of November rut around where we hunt in Meriwether County was in full spring, this Friday morning deer were moving good and were all over the place. I saw later that morning walking up the same lane that I ended up killing him in but I never could get a shot at him. This was really the last of him that I saw for a while until this Saturday morning on November 25th, me and my sister's fiancé were hunting together in a double box stand that sat in some planted pines. We were watching a smaller 4-pointer in the lane in front of us as this buck stepped out, when he stepped out all I saw was his chocolate rack. I slowly raised my gun up and once I saw the crab claw on the left side of his rack I knew it was the deer I was hunting. I waited for him to turn broadsided, I took the shot, and I had dropped the deer that I have been chasing.
